Owner, President, Chairman of the Board – Sherm acquired the stud mill and finger joint facilities formerly owned by Louisiana Pacific Corporation in 2004. Sherm has also owned and operated Sun Mountain Logging, LLC since 1976. He has been active in the timber industry since the late 60’s driving log truck at the age of 15. He has served as President of The American Loggers Council and has earned numerous awards and recognitions from various business and trade associations. In 2003, he served a term in the Montana State Legislature as a Senator representing the areas of Deer Lodge and Helena.
Vice President of the Board and Plant Manager – Anthony (Tony) has worked in both resource and sawmill management in the forest products industry for over 30 years. With a degree in forestry from Washington State University, he started his career with the State of Oregon Department of Forestry and later worked for Louisiana-Pacific and Riley Creek before coming to Sun Mountain Lumber in 2005.
Treasurer of the Board, Controller – Jason joined Sun Mountain Lumber when it began operations. Prior to joining Sun Mountain, he was a Senior Auditor with Deseret Management Corporation in Salt Lake City, UT. He is a licensed CPA and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Colorado State University.
Resource Manager – Steve joined Sun Mountain Lumber when it began operations and has been in the wood products industry his entire career. He worked for Louisiana Pacific for 20 years becoming the Resource Manager at the Deer Lodge facility. Steve holds a B.S. in Forestry from the University of Wisconsin.
Sales & Logistics Manager – Craig joined Sun Mountain Lumber in spring of 2011. Craig has spent his entire career in the wood products industry starting as a forester and becoming the Corporate Logistics Manager with Louisiana Pacific.
Safety & Environmental Manager – April has been part of the Sun Mountain Lumber team since the beginning of operations. Additional experience with the Deer Lodge facility as LP included production training and quality control, as well as safety and environmental.
